Claudia Werner, President

Claudia grew up in Northeastern Michigan and after thirty-four years working in education retired and moved to Southeastern Michigan to help care for her grandchildren. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, a Masters of Arts Degree in Educational Administration and is certified as a Director of Special Education. She served as the President of the Michigan High School Principals Association (MASSP) and President of the Michigan Association of Administrators of Special Education (MAASE). She has been actively involved in service clubs, her church and local and state organization. Claudia and her husband, David, have two married children and 3 grandchildren.

In September 2018 Claudia was part of a Mission team that traveled to Uganda. It was a life-transforming experience. Inspired by this experience and with a desire to serve, Claudia spearheaded the founding of the nonprofit organization, Building Up: Partnering in Health and Wholeness. Claudia is excited to work with a committed team of volunteers sharing a similar passion to “Build Up” partnerships, relationships and sustainable projects that empower individuals and communities to become stronger, more confident, educated and healthy.
