About Jaime Schlack
I am currently a stay-at-home mom and part-time employee. My kiddos are active in school and
sports, which keeps me busy. I also work in the office at Zion Lutheran. I enjoy the inclusive,
faith-based establishment's culture and environment.
As a high school educator for over two decades, I enjoyed teaching the importance of government,
world history, and business with a strong focus on diversity. I was a cross country and track coach,
the advisor for the Diversity Group, DECA, the school store, and the MEA.
I was nominated as a House Fellow for the 15th Congressional District during my career. That
opportunity offered me a trip to Washington, D.C., where I worked closely with the House Historian,
his deputy, and other educators. We observed bills being debated both in committees and on the
House Floor. We enjoyed several working sessions. Some of the most memorable were with the
Speaker of the House of Representatives, the National Museum of African American History director,
and the National Archives.
I started working with Building Up to continue my work in social justice. I love how this non-profit
organization allows people of all ages, genders, and races to work towards improving the
healthcare, education, and wellness of those in Sayyi and surrounding villages. I am passionate
about helping Building Up facilitate Tsiyon Family Hospital's transition to self-sustainability.
